Structural Engineer Report

Structural Engineering Reports

A structural engineer report is a visual property inspection intended to evaluate the overall condition of the property by evaluating the condition of the roof, foundation, floor and its overall structure.

The main objective of the report is to provide the requesting party with an understanding of the current structural condition of the property, or if there are structural problems noted in the building that requires repairs and remediation.

The scope of inspection will cover visual check-ups of the structural foundations and components that are visible including portions of the roof. The relevant visible structural elements of the property will include both the internal and external load-bearing walls, floors, columns, beams and roof structure. It should be kept in mind that this engineering report will is only concerned about the structural integrity of the property, and may not determine your compliance with electrical codes in the region. A separate inspection and report is required to confirm compliance with electrical codes.

Inspections in some areas of the building may be limited by site conditions and safety. For example, access to the roof or entry into a crawlspace may require an extra fee. If there are some concerns about difficult-to-access areas, it is best to inform the team before the actual inspection.
